    BRETT MARVIN & THE THUNDERBOLTS – who scored a hit with Sea- Side Shuffle as Terry Dactyl and the Dinosaurs, are still busy and are to release a new alum soon. Meanwhile, we are most content to content ourselves with their 2013 release “The BBC Sessions, vol. 1”. Based on the Delta tradition, this is a great mixture of blues, folk and fun, with that unmistakable Brett Marvin skiffle touch. Oh, and one member you must know is Jona lewie!

    The band’s unique Delta influenced country blues style, together with some eccentricities in the instrumentation department, including oil drums, zobstick, ironing board, kitchen sink as well as Kid Ory style trombone, ensured their popularity at blues clubs and on the college and university circuit. The Bretts could get whole audiences up on their feet, quite a feat, when the trend was to sit cross legged on the floor, nodding heads in time to the music”.

    Released this month Oct. 2014 the new offcial Brett Marvin and the Thunderboltrs album"Stranger Than Strange" on Sunhouse Records,complete with brand new songs.
    All Thundebolts past and present appear on the album as does the superb musicianship of Mel Collins (King Crimson). Neil Hubbard (Roxy Music), Duffy Power, Les Davidson, Annie Whitehead, Jenifer Maidman, Tony O'Malley ,and the famous Kokomo singers.The album extended line-up brings back the Brett Marvin off-the wall variety and excitement unique selling point that all fans miss and fondly remember.
